Quarterly Harvest: Plant Futures Q2 2026 Update

Plant Futures community – as we settle into summer, our team has been reflecting on the impact Q2 had on us, on our students, on the planet. Our community showed up.

If you would have told me that one day our students would be hosting a Plant-chella on a farm when we started Plant Futures 5 years ago, my heart would have exploded with joy.

Every day on campus, the vision we've always had comes to life: students embracing joy, fun, plants, and community - all while shaping the food system and world they want to see.

After 40+ Earth Week events reaching 1,000+ students across nearly 30 campuses,
and Plantchella (a fully plant-based farm music festival with serious Woodstock energy), our community showed us what it means to create a thriving planty culture.

And the momentum didn't stop on campus. Our students drove change in dining halls, including a brand-new fund for plant-based food at Emory. Our UC-wide course wrapped up with 75 students tackling 17 real-world projects - one of them in partnership with NASA Ames. We brought plant-centered artist storytelling to 620,000+ festival-goers at EDC Vegas and BottleRock. And our first ever Plant Futures course in Spanish just launched this July with 100+ applicants already across 9 countries. 🌍🚀

A movement is finding its identity everywhere
from campus farms to festival stages to classrooms across the globe.

There's a lot to dig into in The Quarterly Harvest: Q2 2026. Let's go!
