Plant Futures Heads to Lollapalooza 2025!

We’re beyond excited to share that Sam and Eric are headed to Lollapalooza in Chicago this weekend - representing Plant Futures on the press front lines!

This is a major milestone as we expand our presence in the music festival world, amplifying work at the intersection of climate action × plant-based food × music × sustainability.

Lollapalooza’s flagship event draws around 400,000 attendees over four days, making it one of the largest and most influential music festivals in the world. With so many people gathered in one space, this is an incredible opportunity to inspire real climate impact through food, dancing, and culture.

Our team will be on the ground all weekend, interviewing artists, capturing stories, and highlighting the powerful sustainability efforts happening across the festival, including behind-the-scenes initiatives and delicious, planet-positive food offerings.

They’ll be spotlighting Lolla’s Plant Base, that offers a wide range of flavorful plant-based dishes, drinks, and dairy-free desserts. It’s a great example of how festivals can serve tasty food options that are better for the planet.

For Sam and Eric, it’s not just about the food, but the energy and culture that come with it. Lollapalooza’s creative atmosphere reflects the spirit of Plant Futures students, who are blending passion, innovation, and purpose to make change feel possible and real.

We can’t wait to connect the positive energy of our community with such an epic event,” said Eric. “Being surrounded by so many entrepreneurial artists and creators really mirrors what we’re seeing with students in the Plant Futures network. They’re turning ideas into positive action and reshaping culture in ways that feel exciting.”

Sam shared a similar excitement about the intersection of music, food, and climate:

I’m definitely planning to eat my way through the fest,” she said, “and of course, dance to some of my favorite electronic artists like RÜFÜS DU SOL, ISOxo, and Knock2.”

She also emphasized the importance of joy in climate work:

Festivals like this are a perfect chance to show that climate action can be joyful and fun. We want to meet people in spaces they already love and show that living in alignment with the planet doesn’t have to feel like a sacrifice.”

Why Music Matters

Music festivals bring together thousands of people from around the world. They’re immersive, joyful, and full of energy, and that’s exactly why they’re powerful platforms for change.

We believe in bringing climate consciousness into the cultural moments people already love. We’re here to show that plant-based living isn’t just about what’s on your plate, it’s about aligning with a future that feels good, tastes good, and does good.

As Sam put it: “Let’s make climate action more fun.”
