Conferences 2023 - Meeting Plant Futurists Across the Globe

There were many moments where I wasn’t sure if I’d make it to the other side of Plant Futures’ 2023 conference calendar, but with the support of my team (and the power of plants of course) we did it! I have so much gratitude for every single one of these experiences that has had a unique role in shaping our team’s vision for a plant-centric future - and of course for everyone who made this possible for us! Highlights included:

• The gathering of the tribe and the team at the Plant Futures Symposium with the team at University of California, Berkeley

• The complete chaos of ExpoWest with Brittany & Sean 

• Meeting up with Eric, Grace and Alaina and with many of our Plant Futures students for the first time at the Animal & Vegan Advocacy (AVA) Summit in Los Angeles where we represented Plant Futures and spoke about the expansion of our curriculum and global chapter network

• Creating new partnerships with industry leaders and overeating vegan cheese samples at Plant Based World Expo North America with Nina (I had enough for both of us) 

• Vegan food adventures in Kuala Lumpur with old and new friends, Navin Durbhakula & Amruta Ubale, and speaking about the global Plant Futures student chapter network at Asia Farm Animal Day (AFAD) in Malaysia

• Speaking to a global audience and representing one of the few plant-forward food organization at the United Nations FAO World Food Forum in Rome with Brittany Sartor

• Snowy nights and plant based eats and speaking at the Denver Reducetarian Foundation Summit with Eric Sirvinskas
  
  The Plant Futurists are truly the changemakers at the forefront of transforming our food system – we really can’t do this work without the talent and passion of the next generation. Looking forward to another year of community, plant-based goodness, and Plant Futures prosperity. Happy New Year!
