From Surf to Stage: 𝘚𝘦𝘒.𝘏𝘦𝘒𝘳.π˜•π˜°π˜Έβ€™s Sustainability Story

Dear Plant Futures Community,

We are beyond excited to share that Eric is headed to Sea.Hear.Now in Asbury Park, New Jersey this weekend, representing Plant Futures on the press front lines.

This festival is unlike any other. Sea.Hear.Now blends live music with pro surfing and ocean advocacy, creating a cultural moment where climate, food, and community all come together. For us, it is the perfect place to explore how joy, creativity, and sustainability can share the same stage.

Sea.Hear.Now draws tens of thousands of people to the Jersey Shore every year. With its focus on protecting the ocean, it is an incredible opportunity to show how festivals can inspire real climate impact through the choices we make about food, culture, and community.

Eric will be on the ground all weekend capturing stories, interviewing surfers, and highlighting the powerful sustainability efforts happening across the festival. From waste diversion and hydration stations to ocean-centered advocacy and climate-friendly food vendors, this is a festival committed to protecting the waters it celebrates.

Why Music and Surf Matter

Festivals are about more than entertainment. They are immersive spaces where people come together in joy and community. Add in the energy of surf culture and the urgency of protecting our oceans, and you have a powerful platform for change.

Sea.Hear.Now shows that climate action can be part of the cultural moments we already love. Choosing ocean-friendly food, supporting sustainable vendors, and listening to the voices of surfers and artists who care deeply about the planet makes climate feel less like a sacrifice and more like a celebration.

Epic Eats

Festivals are as much about food as they are about music, and Sea.Hear.Now is bringing some epic eats to the Jersey Shore. We’re especially excited about the plant-forward options on the grounds this year, including:

  • Betty’s Icebox – handcrafted, refreshing ice treats made from real fruit that are a sweet way to cool down between sets.

  • Dragon Banh Mi – bold Vietnamese flavors with plenty of veggie-packed choices.

  • Island Noodles – wok-fried soba noodles tossed with fresh vegetables, a festival classic that’s plant-based at its core.

  • MOGO Korean Fusion Tacos – local Asbury Park favorites offering creative plant-forward taco options alongside their Korean street food.

  • Pizza Nova – serving up slices with plant-based toppings so everyone can get in on the pizza joy.

  • Hebros Gyros and More – Mediterranean-inspired classics that keep crowds coming back.

If you’re exploring beyond the festival grounds, you’ll find even more ocean-friendly, delicious meals at local spots like Sprout House, Cat’s Luck Vegan, Pulp Asbury, and Crust & Crumble.
