EDC Orlando & Why Festival Culture Can Power Climate Action
Plant Futures is heading to EDC Orlando this weekend to spotlight how food, music, and sustainability come together, and what that means for the future.
We believe culture is the engine of change. And few spaces shape culture more powerfully than music festivals, where millions of people gather, connect, and imagine what tomorrow could look like. If we want sustainability to stick, we have to show up where people already feel that sense of belonging.
Here are three reasons festivals like EDC Orlando are uniquely positioned
to accelerate climate action:
1) Culture shifts before institutions do.
Policy and procurement eventually follow the stories we tell and the moments we celebrate. They will only go as far as a culture is excited to embrace them. Festivals are story factories: they set aesthetics, normalize behaviors, and broadcast new norms at scale. When sustainability shows up here, onstage, onsite, and online, it spreads.
2) Food is a connector.
Food shapes how people experience a festival: energy, community, discovery, delight.
