Discover the Noteworthy Voices Headlining Plant Futures Fest 2024

Our event lineup is now even more impressive with the addition of two new speakers — Tofurky Founder Seth Tibbott and Planted Foods Founder Ashley Kirk — who will be joining Bryant Terry to bring their unique insights and expertise to our stage.

Bryant Terry

Bryant Terry is a multidisciplinary artist defined by the fluidity with which his practices move between cooking, writing, publishing, curation, music, design, food justice activism,  sculpture, and social practice. He draws inspiration from his ancestors, motivating us to strive for a more healthful, just, and sustainable world.

San Francisco Magazine included Terry among 11 Smartest People in the Bay Area Food Scene, and Fast Company named him one of 9 People Who Are Changing the Future of Food. In regard to his food justice activism, Terry’s mentor Alice Waters says, “bryant terry knows that good food should be an everyday right and not a privilege.” From 2015 to 2022, Terry served as the inaugural Chef-in-Residence at the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) in San Francisco. In this role, he curated public programming at the intersection of food, farming, health, activism, art, and culture.

Ashley Kirk

Ashley founded Planted Foods in 2018 with the intention of providing whole hearty ingredients with labels that are clean and clear.

“I was eager to join Plant Futures Fest because its mission perfectly resonates with both my company's and my personal values. I appreciate how this event caters to professionals who share a passion for well-being, be it directed towards the planet, animals, or humans. Together, we all share a common goal of enhancing our world.” - A.K.

Her passion for healthy eating and plant-based cuisine has led her to become a leader in the industry, and we can't wait to hear her insights at the event.

Seth Tibbott

Seth Tibbott, founder and chairman of The Tofurky Company, started his plant-based protein journey in 1980 with $2,500 savings from his teaching career. Inspired by "Diet for a Small Planet," he began making tempeh and later founded Turtle Island Foods, now The Tofurky Company.

Tofurky's mission is to respect for people, animals and the planet. They make tasty food for plant-eaters, meat-eaters and people who resist labels.

A skilled entrepreneur, he recently published his autobiography, "In Search of the Wild Tofurky," detailing his pioneering work in plant-based proteins. The family-run company offers a variety of plant-based products, including the popular Tofurky roast, serving as a meat substitute.

We are looking forward to a fantastic event that will not only offer valuable insights but also contribute to the betterment of our community and cause.

Hope to see you there!
